As confirmed by Aquaplus president Naoya Shimokawa, video game composer Mihio Kinugasa has passed away. Shimokawa said on Twitter:

“I know this is sudden, but our staff composer Michio Kinugasa (real name Susumu Mameda) has passed away. I myself have yet to fully accept this reality. He produced many unforgettable songs, and you cannot discuss our works without mentioning his achievements. Thank you so much for these 17 years. My prayers are with you.”

Kinugasa composed music for several titles including Tears of Tiara, Utawarerumono, Shizuku, and Dungeon Travelers 2.

The cause of his death was not made available to the public.
