Tommy Tallarico Removed As CEO Of Intellivision

A major shakeup has taken place at Intellivision Entertainment as Founder and President Tommy Tallarico has been removed as company CEO and will now operate as the company’s Chief Creative Officer. Former CFO Phil Adams will now be taken on the role as CEO.

Adams said in a statement:

“As a 30+ year industry executive, I am excited to transition into the CEO role at Intellivision. As a business closing in on the last phase before launch, Tommy felt it important to provide focused roles so he can continue to do the things he loves the most. As always, we will be working hand in hand to bring Amico to the market.”

The Intellivision Amico and Intellivision Entertainment have been embroiled in controversy for quite some time. The upcoming console has been delayed three times and arguably their most anticipated game was essentially cancelled over a year ago and the developers even revealed they game would not be exclusive to the Amico. Most recently it was discovered that Intellivision Entertainment have 3 LLC’s suspended and created a new LLC in Delaware.

Many within the retro community has voiced their criticism of Tommy Tallarico himself over the years with the most high profile incident being threatening a games journalist for Ars Technica over what he claims to have been confidential information being leaked in an article published back in June 2021. His antics even resulted in their sub-forum on AtariAge, arguably their most supportive of fans, to be removed from the website with claims by Tallarico himself saying that shut down plans were being planned by both him and AtariAge creator Albert. Albert would later issue a statement to Pat Contri, AKA Pat the NES Punk, claiming otherwise.
