Tencent Holdings Acquires 3.8% Of Remedy Entertainment

Remedy Entertainment have announced that Chinese company Tencent Holdings have acquired 3.8% equity of the company from Accendo Capital. This equates to 500,000 shares of the company and drops Accendo’s shares from 2.3 million to 1.8 million shares.

Tero Virtala, CEO of Remedy Entertainment said in the press release:

“This is a capital markets transaction between Accendo Capital and Tencent, and is not connected with the commercial activities at Remedy. We are naturally aware that Tencent has extensive expertise in the industry, so we are honored by their interest in Remedy and happy to welcome Tencent as a new shareholder.”

Remedy Entertainment were the creators of the Max Payne franchise and are best known for Control, Quantum Break, Alan Wake, and the upcoming CrossfireX.
