The Dallas Fuel have announced that their star Flex player Brandon “Seagull” Larned has retired from competitive Overwatch. This retirement is effective immediately and will see Seagull focus full-time of streaming on Twitch.

Mike Rufail, owner and CEO of Envy Gaming, said in a statement:

“We have nothing but love for Brandon. Seagull joined us at a time when Team Envy had the most dominant roster in North America in Overwatch and helped contribute throughout the ups and the downs of our first Overwatch League season as the Dallas Fuel. We support Brandon in his decision and he leaves us on good terms. We’ll always be pleased that he chose to make his final act in professional Overwatch with the Dallas Fuel.”

Some have speculated that the reason for the retirement was due to being unhappy with the Dallas Fuel organization. This past March, esports consultant Rod Breslau reported that Seagull requested to be treaded from the Dallas Fuel over lack of playing time and internal conflicts within the organization. It’s said that the Fuel wanted a huge name or deal for a trade involving Seagull to take place and even turned down a trade for Kang-jae envy Lee of the Los Angeles Valiant.
