In what would cause children to screech uncontrollably for weeks to come, rumors are circulating that Epic Games will implement what people are calling “Age Gate.” This would require players to enter their age down to the exact date and if they are under the age of 13 there account would then be deleted.
It’s said that this is due to the implementation of the
Children’s Online Privacy Protection Act (COPPA) which despite being signed into law back in 2000, it’s being enforced more with the biggest example being with YouTube and kids content.
Please keep in mind this is still a rumor and Epic Games have not commented on the matter.
