Multiple sites are now reporting that AMD is planning to relaunch another version of their popular R9 290X graphics card. Only this time around it will have 8GB of DDR5 memory strapped to it. The rumor suggests that AMD want a larger SKU in the 8GB department with other companies such as Club3D and PowerColor working on developing their own.
This rumor picked up after a press photo popped up on videocardz.com with a picture of an MSI version of this new 290X was posted on their site.
If this is real this is most likely to compete with the 8GB GeForce 970 and 980. Keep in mind that this is still a RUMOR and AMD, nor MSI have confirmed these reports.
