Republican Party Uses Zelda As Example For Tax Code Proposal, Backfires Badly

If you don’t already know, the beginning of their statement features two major mistakes in their example. The first being that The Legend of Zelda franchise is the best-selling franchise when in fact that award goes to Mario. The Zelda franchise has sold 85.58 million copies since the original game was released back in 1986, while Mario has sold over half a billion copies in its lifetime including spin-off titles. The second is that it stats that Nintendo was founded in 1985. This is way off as Nintendo was created in 1889 under the name The Nintendo Playing Card Company.
