According to a report by ESPN, Red Bull will be dropping their sponsorships with TSM and Cloud9 due to Riot Games’ rules regarding ownership and conflict of interest.
Red Bull has a team that competes in the EU Challenger Series and recently qualified for the EUCS. Red Bulls’ team will be shown as Team RB until”certain formalities” had been “locked.”
Since Red Bull are major sponsors for both Cloud9 and TSM which could lead to serious look in revenue due to losing these sponsors. This could also cause issues with some of the players as TSM Super Smash Bros players William “Leffen” Hjelte and Gonzalo “ZeRo” Barrios are employed by Red Bull directly in order to get around visa issues for esports players.
