Platinum Games Says That Microsoft Should Not Be Blamed For Scalebound Cancellation

In an upcoming interview with Video Game Chronicles, Platinum Games studio head Atsushi Inaba discussed some more details on the 2017 cancelled game Scalebound. During this interview, Inaba said that Microsoft should not take blame for the cancellation of Scalebound and that “both sides failed.” Stating:

“Watching fans getting angry at Microsoft over the cancellation wasn’t easy for us to watch. Because the reality is, when any game in development can’t get released it’s because both sides failed.

“I think there are areas where we could’ve done better and I’m sure there are areas that Microsoft as a publishing partner wish that they could’ve done better. Because nobody wants a game to be cancelled.”

The studio took the development as a learning lesson for their upcoming game Astral Chain which releases on August 30.
