Pepsi Invaders ‘”Prototype” Surfaces

pepsiinvadersatari2600

Huge news for Atari 2600 collectors as a “prototype” copy of Pepsi Invaders has surfaced on eBay. The reason for the quotations is due to the belief that this prototype has the same PCB as the retail version. The only problem with this is the game received a very limited production run of 125 carts, which were mostly given out of Coca-Cola executives during a sales convention in 1983. The other problem is even this story hasn’t been 100% confirmed, but when you are dealing with a game in which only 125 copies were actually made it’s very hard to truly authenticate.

The seller who goes by bennyray37 went into great detail when discussing the cartridge and how they obtained it. It’s also worth noting bennyray37 has a feedback score of 636 with 100% positive feedback.

The current asking price is $449 and has 31 bidders.
