NASCAR Heat 2 Releases Today

Today 704 Games released NASCAR Heat 2 for Xbox One, Playstation 4, and PC on Steam. The team looks to expand upon what was created with last years game in a big way by adding all three of NASCAR’s top three national series’. For those of you not familiar with NASCAR or what the different series are I’ll break it down for you. The Camping World Truck Series is the first step for up and coming drivers to test their skills on the track in front of NASCAR fans each week. The series has the shortest schedule of the three and a different type of vehicle is driven but is typically a part of the race weekend with the other two at the same track.

There are times when each series will be on their own track for a weekend, or when a series is off entirely while the others compete. The NASCAR XFINITY Series is the tier below the big time. Think of this series as the College Football series where the young drivers come out to compete each weekend, the only difference is that they can have opportunities to race against those in the main series as they like to test the kids to see who really stands out. The Monster Energy Cup Series is the NFL of the group. They race on almost every Sunday and on occasion Saturday nights. This series made Dale Earnhardt and Richard Petty household names with them both having 7 championships.

NASCAR Heat 2 also adds in the tracks that those series’ race on separately from the Cup Series. Mid-Ohio Raceway, Eldora Speedway, Canadian Tire Motorsport Park, and more are all now included on top of the full list of previous tracks. Each race features 40 cars on track along with full simulation of tire wear, fuel depletion, damage. You do have the option to play casually as well if you’d like and have those turned off. The game now offers the ability to race online with 40 cars, or you and a buddy can sit down on a couch and race one another with split screen.

Monster Games have added a new career mode that lets you race your way to the top from the Camping World Truck Series to the Monster Energy Cup Series. You earn money with each race and as you progress you can have rivals depending on how you race others around you. You get to choose who you want to drive for as contracts come in from your performance or you can stick with your team and they will continue to get better as you perform better. The game also features a very important feature to racing. If you keep your car or truck in great shape for multiple races you get a bonus that helps your team to grow and they become faster due to not needing to rebuild those vehicles.

The game is out as of today for $49.99 and you can find it your local video game retailer or online. If you purchase the game there is a voucher that gives you $50 off of a ticket to a NASCAR race as well! 704 Games was nice enough to send us a free copy of the game and we will have a review of it soon.
