Malware Scam Targets Friday The 13th Kickstarter Backers

A malware scam has surfaced which specifically targets those who backed the Friday The 13th game on Kickstarter. These scams claimed to generate a beta key for the game, but of course doesn’t.

This led to Gun Media and Illfonic to release a statement saying to not click on it or run any associated programs. Stating..

Again, if it doesn’t emanate directly from us or our partners (press, or streamers), don’t trust it. We have not given out any codes to date, we have only taken email addresses to send them out when we get closer to the date of the Beta Test. There will be no official code generator app or website for our game. Do not be bilked by scammers.”
