The Chinese government has officially blacklisted both Kaspersky and Symantic’s antivirus software.
Alejandro Arango, a Kaspersky spokesman, told Reuters “We are investigating and engaging in conversations with Chinese authorities about this matter. It is too premature to go into any additional details at this time.”
According to Reuters, the chinese government as been attempting by lessening their dependency on foreign policy as their are now only 5 approved antivirus products in the country, all from which are based out of China. The other cause is due to the possibility of spying after the Edward Snowden/NSA ordeal.
