The International Olympic Committee are still having meetings in regards to the possibility of eSports being added to the Olympics. During a recent meeting in Lausanne Switzerland, the committee did say they consider eSports a sport. Part of their reasoning was due to the fact that esports players train for competition as intensely as traditional athletes
The IOC also said that esports content “must not infringe on the Olympic values.”
The communique said they would continue to discuss esports “in due course.”
