The New Yorker has provided us with some behind the scenes information regardig Hideo Kojima’s departure from Konami.
According to the report, Kojima left Konami back on Octoer 9 and Konami even gave him a ceremony. One attendee said that it was “a rather cheerful but also emotional goodbye.” It’s also interesting to note that neither Konami President Hideki Hayakawa and CEO Sadaaki Kaneyoshi did not show up for the event.
The big news out of the story is that Hideo Kojima’s non-compete clause expires some time in December. This means that after this he will be free to join a new studio if he chooses to do so.
