According to an updated listing on their official website, GameStop have changed their Terms and Conditions for Power Up Rewards members. Included in this update is the controversial decision by the company to auto-renew all Power Up Rewards memberships that were paid for via Credit or Debit Card.Those who end up in auto renew cannot simply cancel their membership in the store, but by calling 1-800-800-0032 OR emailing [email protected] at least 5 days before their membership expires. Those who e-mail their request to cancel must provide the name and e-mail address associate with said membership.
Since the news was unveiled to employees at the GameStop Expo last month many have taken to the official GameStop subreddit to voice their frustration with this procedure. Many feel like this implementation will decrease their Power Up Rewards percents that stores have set goals for which will in turn cause those at the corporate level blame the stores for low performance.
