GameStop Manager Claims Company Isn’t Filling Positions Due To Lack Of Compensation

A registered manager on the GameStop subreddit took to the the site to say that according to a conference call with their District Leader, the reason why GameStop are having a hard time filling their “slots” are directly related to compensation.

The manager stated:

There’s a handful of stores still doing those Tuesday Job Fairs, and my DL said on the conference call that compensation is the main reason people aren’t filling their ‘slots.’ They went on to promote the Pro Card bonus as the best way to get applicants to accept a job offer.

Sorry, but SGA’s start at $8.25 here, and there’s no amount of pro card bonuses will make their paycheck appealing on what MIGHT amount to 4 shifts/week.

The bonus might be a way to snag a good ASL, if that position still exists at the hiring store, but SGAs don’t get but 5% of the PGM pool on a good two weeks, and GAs aren’t eligible for the bonus AT ALL.

When asked how much these Pro Bonuses equaled out to, a store manager replied:

if you get the maximum bonus, it’s upwards of 200/wk for SL (better for high profit stores), but only 50 or so a week for SGAs.

Replies from both current and former employees have noted that the company have made numerous promises to yearly raises but never deliver or they have gone on to other companies making more than they did working at GameStop.
