E3 2022 To Be Digital-Only Event

The Entertainment Software Association have revealed that the upcoming E3 2022 event will be going digital-only once again due to the ongoing concern around coronavirus and the omicron variant.

ESA said in a statement to GamesBeat:

“Due to the ongoing health risks surrounding COVID-19 and its potential impact on the safety of exhibitors and attendees, E3 will not be held in person in 2022. We remain incredibly excited about the future of E3 and look forward to announcing more details soon.”

E3 was cancelled in 2020 and was a digital-only event in 2021.
