CaptainSparklez Creates Working Cell Phone In Minecraft

Minecraft players have been able to recreate some very amazing things in the world. From full recreational towns from other famous video games to a functional computer, the possibilities are endless. Famous YouTuber CaptainSparklez teamed up with Verizon Wireless to create a working cell phone in Minecraft. The phone was able to access to YouTube, Imgur, and even actual calls.

Verizon released this statement tell how they were able to pull this off…

“In the world of Minecraft, almost everything is made of blocks. We’ve created a web application, Boxel, that translates real web pages and streaming video into blocks so they can be built on a Minecraft server in real time. Our server plugin uses Boxel-client to handle the communication between Minecraft and the real world as translated by the web application.”
