Ascend: Hand of Kul Pulled

Microsoft has removed Signal Studios RPG Ascend: Hand of Kul from the Xbox Marketplace. What makes this story interesting is that Signal Studios wasn’t even told by Microsoft that the game would even be pulled.

Signal Studios released this statement…

“We are deeply saddened by this decision and the impact it has on our community. While Microsoft discontinued support for the Xbox 360 version of Ascend, Signal has released a free BETA version of the game on Steam with a wealth of gameplay improvements where the community can still enjoy slaying trolls and converting altars.”

Microsoft later confirmed to Eurogamer that they did in fact pull the game from the Marketplace, but is still available on PC. A Microsoft representative had this to say…

“This only applies to Ascend on Xbox 360 – Ascend will continue to be available on the Steam gaming platform. We thank Signal Studios and its community of gamers for their support and look forward to welcoming them into our other gaming communities.”
