No More “Quickscoping” in Black Ops

For those who love quickscoping in Modern Warfare 2, you might not be happy when you pick up your copy of Black Ops. When somebody asked about the ability to quickscope your enemies in Black Ops during a recent Q&A on Twitter, Treyarch community manager Josh Olin replied…

“No. Quickscoping is a cheap way to play. We’re specifically going to gimp Quickscoping, sorry. Play straight-up!”

Even though those who were accepted into the closed beta of Black Ops had the ability to quickscope, they will not be able in the full version.

UPDATE: Halo Reach Leak

Microsoft did in fact release this game over XBL. Microsoft released the game with a 99999 Microsoft Point price tag, and you needed a special download code to get access to that. Somehow, mods at Gametuts.com found a way to get around the access code which led to the “leak.” One previous forum post on Gametuts.com website mentioned this.

“The intelligent mind of our beloved Admin, Matty worked endlessly to acquire this game, the deed was done. The moderator of GameTuts, Cthulhu is now the man of his word to work on the game file and allow our members see ‘Halo: Reach’ before its release.”

Microsoft is currently investigating this huge “breach of security” and will most likely ban any console running the game prior to it’s September 14th release date.

2K games have secretly created a website for a new shooting game called Spec Ops: The Line. Now not much is currently known about this game, what we do know is that they are currently looking for Beta Testers for this game. Those who are accepted will have to sign a Non Disclosure Agreement as the beta is a closed beta. Some of the requirements for this beta include that you must be an Xbox Live Gold Member since this beta is for Xbox 360 only. Other requirements include signing an NDA, and must be at least 18 years of age to participate. Now since there really isn’t known about this game at this time, we can tell you that this game does currently have a trailer as it was released to the public during the Spike TV Video Game Awards 2009. We can also reports that according to Amazon.com, the game is expected to be released on December 31, 2010. Below is the link to the trailer…

For those who enjoy shooting games, keep looking here on Gamingconviction.com for more info regarding this game. Something tells us that this game will be a mix between Modern Warfare 2, and Borderlands.

Black Ops Beta?

While searching the interwebs today on Bing, I discovered an advertising link to CoD Black Ops.

Search result from Bing

The odd thing is that I found a message that says “Sign up for your Beta Key now. Be

the first to test.” The even more strange thing is the website directs you to the official Black Ops webpage. Neither Activision nor Treyarch have commented on anything rela

ting to this. Normally, we would declare this a false ad, but since it’s directed to the official website, we all are second guessing ourselves. So it is fake or not? You decide for yourself.

Early last week, Microsoft officially announced the full details of the Prestige Edition of Black Ops. The game will include the Hardened edition of the game, which includes the disk, a Black Ops medal, an avatar outfit, and 3 additional multiplayer maps. So what makes this special you might ask? Well the prestige comes with all of that plus a remote-controlled video surveillance vehicle. So yes, you get a RC vehicle with an actual video camera on it. The prestige edition will be priced at $149.99, the hardened edition will be $79.99, while the game only will be $59.99.

QuakeCon attendees were disappointed this year after ID Software did not make an announcement about Doom 4, as they promised at QuakeCon 2009. During his welcoming speech, ID Software CEO Todd Hollenshead announced that “No Doom 4 footage would be shown.” ID Staff Member John Carmack did admit to being part of the dev team for Doom 4, but did not release any details during his time at the show.

Earlier today, Irrational Games officially announced the next installment to the Bioshock Series. Irrational and 2K games stated Bioshock Infinite is ”an entirely new narrative experience that lifts players out of the familiar confines of Rapture and rockets them to Columbia, an immense city in the sky.”

The game will be set in the 1912 in a city of Columbia. You will play as “former Pinkerton agent Booker DeWitt, sent to the lost city to rescue Elizabeth, a young woman imprisoned there since childhood. He develops a relationship with Elizabeth, augmenting his abilities with hers so the pair may escape from a city that is literally falling from the sky. DeWitt must learn to fight foes in high-speed Sky-Line battles, engage in combat both indoors and amongst the clouds, and harness the power of dozens of new weapons and abilities.”
While no exact release date has yet to be announced, speculation points to a 2012 release.
