Ubisoft Creative Director Alex Amancio, recently sat down with OXM UK and talked the anticipated Ubisoft title Assassin’s Creed: Revelation. During the interview, Amancio said that the next installment in the series will have it’s “Prince of Persia” moments.

Below is what Amancio had to say…

“You know how in Assassin’s Creed we’ve always had the typical systematic city, then missions on top of that, and then sometimes we have more linear moments? Some people have called them ‘Prince of Persia moments’ within Assassin’s Creed. We’re taking that idea and having more linear sequences. But instead of having more challenged-based sequences, we’re having highly realized sequences. So we’re drawing the emotion from the actual realization and intensity, rather than from climbing puzzles for example. You have those moments in the game.”

“Remember we had exotic gameplay sequences, like Leonardo’s flying machines? We’re still going to have exotic gameplay sequences with new exotic mechanics, but we’re also going to wrap them in more of a highly realized fashion.”

Assassin’s Creed: Revelations Announced

Written by Ryan Shoptaw Published May 6, 2011
COMMENTS

Ubisoft announced today that the next installment of the Assassin’s Creed series will be called Assassin’s Creed: Revelations. Below is an excerpt from the official press release…

“In Assassin’s Creed Revelations, master assassin Ezio Auditore walks in the footsteps of his legendary mentor, Altaïr, on a journey of discovery and revelation. It is a perilous path – one that will take Ezio to Constantinople, the heart of the Ottoman Empire, where a growing army of Templars threatens to destabilize the region.

“In addition to Ezio’s award-winning story, the acclaimed online multiplayer experience returns, refined and expanded, with more modes, more maps and more characters that allow players to test their assassin skills against others from around the world. The latest chapter in the Assassin’s Creed saga also includes revolutionary gameplay, allowing players to manipulate the construct of Desmond’s memories and the Animus to decipher the mysteries of his past and gain insight into the future.”

“Delivering the final chapter of the Ezio trilogy is an important milestone in the Assassin’s Creed franchise for us and for our fans,” said Alexandre Amancio, Creative Director at Ubisoft Montreal. “Assassin’s Creed Revelations includes lots of new features and some significant surprises. We can’t wait to show our fans what we have in store at E3 this year.”

Revelations will also be featured on the cover of next month’s GameInformer magazine.

Ubisoft surveys gamers for Assassin’s Creed 3

Written by Ryan Shoptaw Published December 4, 2010
COMMENTS

Earlier this week, some of our staff received an e-mail from Ubisoft asking us what we thought were just questions about Assassin’s Creed Brotherhood, well towards the end of the survey, it started asking us questions about Assassin’s Creed 3. It asked us to pick what kind of features we would like to see in Assassin’s Creed 3 such as co-op campaign, the ability to customize bombs, a continuation of Ezio’s story, etc. In the end there were about 28 different options and you were asked to choose the top 3 you would like the most. Several of our readers have reported getting the same email.

Keep in mind that this is just a survey, and there is no confirmation that any of these features will be in the full game. We will bring you more information as it comes available.
