According to the Neilson Ratings, Spike’s VGA had a grand total of 627,000 people tune in last Saturday to watch the show. It’s actually a 3% drop compared to last years 650,000 total viewers. Since the award show debuted back in 2007, viewership had decreased every single year since then. The first annual Spike VGAs had 920,000 viewers. Spike did however, had some things go their way. The show received a 12 percent boost in adult viewers aged 18 to 49, from 370,000 last year to 450,000, while 18- to 34-year-old viewers increased in number by five percent, from 278,000 viewers last year to 292,000 this year. Men aged 18 to 34 showed the most significant rise. 15 percent over last year, from 281,000 viewers to 251,000.

Microsoft Pulls Gears 3 From VGAs?

Written by Ryan Shoptaw Published December 12, 2010
COMMENTS

Some of you may have noticed that there wasn’t a Gears of War 3 trailer tonight at the VGAs. Well there originally was suppose to be a trailer that featured actual gameplay of the hit shooting game. According to Epic Games, Microsoft decided to pull the trailer themselves. Epic Games Rod Fergusson tweeted this before the show.

“To be clear, the VGA announcement delay comes from Microsoft, not us.”

Gears 3 Designer Cliff Bleszinski also tweeted this.

“I appreciate everyone’s patience. I’m flattered that people are upset about an announcement about something that was so vague. Have faith!”

Neither Microsoft, nor Epic Games have revealed exactly why the trailer was pulled. More Soon
