Xbox 720 Revealed At E3?

A source for Joystiq revealed today that the Xbox 720 might be closer to be revealed than what some people may believe. How soon exactly? Try the beginning of next month at E3 soon. The source had this to say…

“Quite often when new consoles come around they’re packaged into a PC shell, but actually, what’s inside is an entirely new console. Why let Nintendo steal the thunder in June [at E3]? It doesn’t want to lose momentum. That’s why I think Microsoft is rushing to make an announcement at E3.”

While some are believing that it will come out sometime in 2012, others think differently.

EEDAR analyst Jesse Divnich said that the probability of the new Xbox coming out next year is unlikely.

“The Xbox 360 has incredible momentum and it would baffle me as to why they would make a new hardware announcement at E3 and announce its launch by the end of 2012. I think we can all agree that new hardware is due, but 2012 may be a tad bit early to launch a true new piece of hardware. But I’ve been wrong before.”

Rumors are also spreading around that the following companies already have a development kit on hand…

EA
Ubisoft
Rockstar Games
Activision
343 Industries
