More bans are expected in the coming weeks.

Gears of War 3 to miss April Release Date

For those who are anxiously waiting on the April 11, 2011 release of Gears of War 3, well get ready to get upset. Microsoft announced that GOW3 has now been pushed back until a Fall 2011 release.

Below is Microsoft’s official statement…

The teams at Microsoft Game Studios and Epic Games have done great work thus far readying the title for release in the Spring of 2011. However, we’ve elected to move the launch of Gears of War 3 until Fall 2011 to make it the marquee title for the holiday season.

Executive producer Rod Fergusson also released a statement as well.

I know fans are going to be disappointed with the new release date, but rest assured that this is a business decision between partners, and not a quality issue. Gears 3 was on track to be the most polished Gears of War game ever when it released in April, and this additional time allows us to polish it that much more before it hits shelves next fall.

We will have more info as we get it.

The Taliban have now been renamed “Opposing Force” after several complaints from “friends and families of fallen soldiers who have expressed concern.”

Goodrich said…

“We are making this change for the men and women serving in the military and for the families of those who have paid the ultimate sacrifice – this franchise will never willfully disrespect, intentionally or otherwise, your memory and service.”
