Senior designers Chad Grenier, and Mohamed Alavi, as well as designer Jason McCord and programmer Chris Lambert have joined the 17+ employees that have submitted their resignation, or left Infinity Ward following the firing of Zampella and West last month.
Rumors are that at least five of the 17+ that have left, have joined Respawn Entertainment, along with Zampella and West.
In an attempt to stop the bleeding, Acivision is spreading West’s and Zampella’s bonuses among the remaining staff. Dan Amrich, a staff blogger at Activision admits there may be more departures, and said that the people who leave “are giving up their bonuses, and the more people that leave, the bigger the bonus gets for the people who stay.”
Analysts predict that these resignations will likely not encourage consumers to avoid future Call of Duty titles. However, growing competition from EA, Respawn, and DICE will likely result in lower sales numbers, and unit sales for Activision and IW.
It appears that, regardless of the current lawsuit by Zampella and West, IW and Activision will still push for one new Call of Duty per year. It is rumored that they are already working towards this goal with Treyarch Studiow, working on a Vietnam Era Call of Duty, which is expected just in time for the holidays.
