Rockstar’swestern game Red Dead Redemption has been delayed from late April to May 18, 2010.  Ben Fedder, CEO of Take-Two, the publisher for RD:R said that the launch was shifted to what he called an “optimal timefraim to release what is being hailed as the next generation of sandbox games.”  This clears the way for several other highly anticipated games that are expected to release in April.

Earlier this week, reports began to surface of mr Vince Zampella and Jason West being fired from Infinity Ward by Activision.  These reports soon prooved true.  The pair was fired on March 1st, 2010 for “insubordination and breach of fiduciary duty,” Activision’s attorney Robert Schwartz said in a statement made to the press.  It was also said that the two were fired before they were scheduled to recieve “substantial” royalty payments.  Rumors have also begun to surface that other staff members haven’t recieved their payments, but Activision denies these claims.

Since, Zampella and West have filed suit against Activision on the grounds of “wrongful termination.”  The suit says that the pair is demanding financial compensation, as well as contractual rights for the Modern Warfare brand.

We will continue to monitor this situation as it develpes over the comming months.

Sexual Preference and More Now Allowed in Profile

For years, the XBox LIVE Code of Conduct has stired controversy and contempt through out the XBox LIVE Community.  One more set of taboos was removed from the list of “disallowed” terms.  Now, users may now state their sexual preference in their gamertag, bio, motto, or any other part of their profile.  However, you can’t say just anything.  XBox LIVE has only allowed the terms:

  • Straight
  • Gay
  • Lesbian
  • Bi
  • Transgender

People using these terms will likely expose themselves to harassment from the community.  Good thing they have several options from muting a harassing player, all the way to filing a communications complaint with the XBox LIVE Policy Enforcement Team.

In addition, players may now list their race, religion, and nationality freely in their pofile.

This article is being posted as a courtesy for all our readers who own a PS3 console.  There is a critical error with the internal system clock of any non-slim PS3.  Reports have surfaced, and confirmed that any non-slim PS3 consoles will experience a massive system failure once March 1st hits the gamers time zone.  This failure will likely corrupt all game save data, trophies, and more.  The error will likely cause users not do play certain “rented” content from the PSN.  Any owner of a non-slim PS3 is encouraged to keep their systems OFF until further notice.  Stay tuned to the official PlayStation website for mroe details.

Review – Dante’s Inferno

COMMENTS

Ah yes good old Dante. I had wanted to play you for a while, and when I saw you during the Superbowl this year, I was counting down the days until the release date.

In this game you play as… you guessed it, Dante. Dante, a lot like Mario, is after his beloved lady. Your main objective is to kill Lucifer, who has your beloved Beatrice under his control. At first, you are pumped to play the game. If you asked for blood, this game delivers in that department, and then some. The controls are somewhat easy to figure out. Lots of moves and combos available to slaughter your enemies, and the boss fights are fun and challenging. There are definitely some negatives though. After awhile you start to lose interest in the story. Not even halfway through the game I was bored with the game and was trying to force myself to complete the storyline. For those who have played God of War, the game has that atmosphere, but just like Saint’s Row, it just feels too much like a knock off. For those who haven’t played God of War, you are going to enjoy this game. The replay value is moderate, but I personally don’t fall under that category. Note to EA, if you are going to advertise during the Superbowl, make sure that you don’t let people down and leave an everlasting impression, because you just failed in my book.

Review – Assassin’s Creed II

At last, the sequel to one of 2007′s best games is finally out. In this game you start off as Desmond, who escapes from the facility that he was held in durring AC1. You are taken to a secret hiding place of the assassins and are put through a newer version of the Animus. Instead of playing as Altair, you play as Ezio. Ezio lives in 15th century Italy. Ezio takes the role of the assassin after his father and brother are betrayed and murdered. Throughout the entire game your main objective is to find and kill everyone involved in your families murder. They introduced so many new things in this game that make killing people much for fun. In this game, you can now swim, and have more weapons that are unlocked as the story progresses. Some of the new weapons are poison knives, a gun, and a flying machine. All of these make fighting enemies seem a lot less tedious.

This game is still a long game. There are over 200 missions overall in the game with about 25-30 hours of storyline gameplay. The controls are still simple to use, the camera is great, but again, still has some minor flaws.

I can’t tell you now much fun this game is. The only thing I can tell you is go to the store and buy this game now! It is worth every penny. This game is by far in my personal opinion one of the best games to be released in 2009 for the Xbox 360. A serious contender for game of the year.
